Community History Project

Digital Archive

The Community History Project Digital Archive is a public, searchable archive of digital materials related to African American history in East Tennessee. The items in the archive are sourced from a mix of local institutions and community members who have generously lent digital copies of their resources.

The lenders include the Greeneville Greene County History Museum, Tusculum University, The Greeneville Sun, Greene County Schools, The Kingsport Times News, Bristol Department of Education, area churches and dozens of community members.

Working in partnership with the University of Tennessee's School of Information Sciences, this archive will continue to grow and expand in coming years, with more opportunities for community members to contribute materials well into the future.
