Greeneville Community History Project
The Greeneville Black History Project's goal is to work with the Black communities of Greene County, Tennessee in an effort to fully document and make accessible the community's history.

Much of the material collected comes from Tusculum College, the Greene County History Museum, and the Elmer T. Cox Memorial Library. However, the greatest treasures come from the community members themselves.

During a call for materials in February 2018, the project collected family history documents and conducted several oral history interviews. These materials, along with the community resource, The Black Community of Greeneville Pathfinder, will be showcased in the upcoming event Black in Appalachia: A Greeneville History Presentation.
